Analysts have an increasingly positive view of the economy

  • The UBS CFA Society Switzerland Indicator rose slightly once again in March, to 11.5. A positive value shows that the analysts surveyed expect an economic upswing in the next six months

  • In the long term, the respondents see growth in Switzerland at 1.5% and inflation at 1.4%. Compared with the survey carried out six months ago, confidence has risen that the SNB can maintain inflation within its target range of 0–2%.

  • Respondents believe the central bank can achieve its inflation target, despite the announcement that SNB President Thomas Jordan is stepping down from his position in September 2024. The reason for this expectation is that 88% of the respondents do not expect any changes to monetary policy following Jordan’s resignation.
