Legal Terms and Conditions of Use

Last updated: 3 June 2026

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the website of CFA Society Switzerland (“Society”, “we”, “our”) at cfasocietyswitzerland.org and any related sub-pages or digital services (collectively, the “website”). The Society is a non-profit professional association registered in Switzerland under the Trade Registry of the Canton of Zurich.

By accessing or using the website, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the website. We may update these terms from time to time — the current version is always available on this page with the date of last update. Continued use of the website after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

1.  Intellectual Property

The content of this website — including text, graphics, logos, images, data, and software — is protected under Swiss copyright law (Urheberrechtsgesetz, URG, SR 231.1) and other applicable intellectual property laws. All rights are reserved by the Society or its licensors unless expressly stated otherwise.

You may view and download a single copy of website content for your own personal, non-commercial use only, provided you retain all copyright and proprietary notices. You may not:

  • Reproduce, distribute, publish, or publicly display website content for commercial or public purposes
  • Modify, adapt, or create derivative works from website content without prior written consent
  • Use the Society’s name, logo, or the CFA Institute logo or trademark for any purpose without a written agreement
  • Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices

Any use of website content beyond these permitted uses requires prior written authorisation from the Society at info@cfasocietyswitzerland.org.

2.  Links and Third-Party Websites

You may create a plain text hyperlink to the homepage of this website without prior permission, provided the link does not imply endorsement, affiliation, or sponsorship by the Society, and does not frame or embed the website within another site.

The website may contain links to third-party websites (including CFA Institute, event venues, partner organisations, and external resources). These links are provided for convenience only. The Society does not endorse, control, or accept responsibility for the content or privacy practices of any linked third-party website. We encourage you to read the terms of use and privacy notices of any external site you visit.

3.  Data Protection and Privacy

The Society collects and processes personal data in connection with your use of this website, including registration for events, membership enquiries, newsletter subscriptions, and chatbot interactions. All personal data is processed in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP, SR 235.1). For questions about how we handle your personal data, please contact us at info@cfasocietyswitzerland.org.

3.1  Event registration and sponsor data sharing

When you register for a Society event, you will be asked during the registration process whether you consent to your name and employer/job title being shared with the named event sponsor(s) for the purpose of attendee list distribution. This consent is optional and is collected by means of an unticked checkbox. You may withdraw your consent at any time before the attendee list is distributed by contacting info@cfasocietyswitzerland.org.

What we share and with whom

•  We share: your name and employer/job title only.

•  We do not share: your email address, phone number, or any other contact details with sponsors.

•  Sponsors receive the attendee list before the event. If you cancel your registration after consenting, your name may already have been shared.

•  Sponsor names are listed on the event registration page. If you object to a specific sponsor receiving your data, please contact us before completing your registration.
