Careers Committee member roles/responsibilities:
- You will contribute to the development of the career offering of CFA Society Switzerland
- You will co-create new initiatives of the Careers Committee
- You will also have a chance to support, and make an impact on our existing initiatives, in particular: Career Paths, Soft Skills Workshops
- You will research and identify topics relevant for the finance profession from the career’s perspective
Careers Committee member requirements:
- You are enthusiastic about career-oriented topics
- You are willing to contribute to the Careers Committee over the course of the next 2 years (with a prolongation possibility)

- You enjoy planning events and you are not shying away from public speaking

Volunteer Position: Mentoring Program Careers Committee 2026

Careers Committee Mentoring Program member roles/responsibilities:
- You will contribute to the development and expansion of our Mentoring Program
- You will support matchmaking of mentees with mentors
- You will contribute towards organisation of the events associated with the Mentoring Program
- You will support communication between the Careers Committee and the participants in the Program
- You will have a chance to get involved in other initiatives of the Career Committee
Careers Committee Mentoring Program Team member requirements:
- You are enthusiastic about mentoring
- You are willing to devote time to the volunteering in April and May when the team is preparing for the new edition of the Program and c. 1-2h a month over the course of the remainder of the year
- You enjoy working with data

Volunteer Position: University Relations Committee
The University Relations Committee’s mission is to foster relations with major universities and universities of applied sciences, thereby supporting CFA Institute’s overall mission to serve clients and society.
We are looking for a new members to support some of the committee’s activities:
- Key Account Management support to cover schools (University of Fribourg), particularly with respect to the University Affiliation Program, but also generally maintains relationships with the leadership (dean, president). Focus on the faculty of economics / BA
- Position CFA and its other credentialing programs as a key continuing education after the Bachelor or Master program, across all areas of study
- Active and proactive provisioning of guest speakers and practitioner teaching staff (e.g. lecturer) to relevant professors
- Selectively hold guest lectures in their own area of expertise
- Active involvement in university activities (e.g. Dies Academicus, graduation ceremonies, important meetings)
- Marketing of CFA brand and all credentialing programs (presentations, information sessions, flyers) covering all faculties
- Promotes and supports the CFA Institute Research Challenge in Switzerland
- Selectively partners up with other professional bodies on a local level
Requirements:
- CFA charterholder and member of CFA Society Switzerland; Master degree or higher
- Junior or senior professional profile
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Optional: studied and/or affiliated with the school covered, faculty member
- Time required for this role: on average one hour per month
- Duration of engagement: minimum 2-3 years, starting March 2026
- Genuine interest in knowledge-building activities and the concept of lifelong learning
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Attending quarterly Committee meetings
- During meetings, actively contributing to discussions leading to development of committee’s activities
- Outside meetings, pro-actively participate in assigned activities listed above

Volunteer Position: Research Challenge, Leadership Role
CFA Institute Research Challenge is an annual equity research competition among student teams from the 1’100+ world's top university business and finance programs. Students write an equity research report on a publicly traded subject company and present their findings to an expert panel.
Every year, more than 40 student teams from Swiss universities and universities of applied sciences and the University of Liechtenstein participate in the local competition that takes off in early October. Two winning team(s) progress to the EMEA Sub-regional Final and potentially to the EMEA Semi-regional Final (March/April the following year) and Global Final (end of April).
With Research Challenge, it is our goal to teach the best practices in equity research and corporate analysis. Students are supported by more than 80 volunteers who provide industry expertise and mentorship, grade their research reports and judge their presentations.
Requirements:
- Personal and long-term experience in equity or corporate credit analysis
- Local network with equity research professionals (buy and sell-side) and knowledge on publicly traded Swiss companies
- Expected commitment: 6–8 hours/month on average (more on peak months October, December, and February)
- Expected term: 3–5 years
- Previous volunteering experience in Research Challenge has a high advantage
- CFA Charterholder
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Contributes to strategy (i.e. new initiatives and offerings, sponsorship, selection of a subject company, etc)
- Ensures effective organization and delivery of the project (i.e. volunteer recruitment and management, organization of educational workshops, etc)
- Participate as a judge for the selected local and national competition rounds
- Maintain key relationships with stakeholders: universities, subject company, sponsors, CFA Institute, etc.

Volunteer Position: Membership Committee
The Membership Committee aims to create a leading community of Investment Professionals in Switzerland. The committee strives to ensure all members of our community have a platform to:
- Connect with fellow members to share ideas, develop contacts and obtain referrals to enhance their careers
- Grow with critical life-long investment knowledge, skills and solutions for themselves, colleagues and clients
- Lead in their career, profession, industry and society to make a difference
We foster this by creating a local network where members have priority access to career resources, Professional Learning opportunities, volunteer opportunities, educational and networking events.
Whether new to the investment profession, a long-time charterholder, or somewhere in between, our membership committee is dedicated to helping members advance their investment management careers and drive confidence in the profession.

- Work experience in communications and/or marketing would be a great advantage

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the CFA Society Switzerland & CFA Institute’s strategy for member retention, engagement, membership growth and to reduce society membership gaps
- Attends team meetings (committee calls)
- Support different communication exercises with members include targeted marketing campaigns, reaching out to members directly & gathering qualitative feedback
- Support and advise the executive office on measures to improve member engagement and initiatives to promote membership growth
- Actively promotes CFA Society Switzerland membership and related events to his/her professional network
