Volunteers are vital to us providing valuable services to our members.  Browse below to find and apply for an opportunity that fits your interests, competencies, and availability.  You can volunteer in many ways, from short term project based opportunities to committee appointments. Duration of engagement: minimum 1 year (prolongation to the second year possible) starting March 2025.

Volunteer Position: Candidates Committee in the Geneva/Lausanne region

Requirements:

  • Willingness to make things happen
  • Creative and communicative
  • Enjoy planning and attending networking events
  • Network with candidates and students useful
  • Duration of engagement: minimum 2 years (prolongation possible)
  • Young professional who preferably passed all three levels of the CFA or already is a CFA charterholder 
  • Candidate Member or Regular Member of the CFA Society Switzerland
  • Available for committee calls every three weeks and having several hours per month available for volunteer work
  • preference for a member in the Geneva/Lausanne region to support candidate events there 

 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for preparing and performing the “How to succeed in Finance” series (4 per year, thereof 1 in Geneva) together with another volunteer
  • Organise the "How to pass the CFA exam" event (new initiative)
  • Think about needs of candidates and address them/discuss new ideas (and implement them)
  • Pro-actively researching and identifying relevant topics (and speakers) interesting for CFA candidates and students
  • Bring high energy and enthusiasm to the committee

Volunteer Position: Mentoring Program Careers Committee 2025

Requirements:

  • You are enthusiastic about mentoring
  • You are willing to devote time to the volunteering in April and May when the team is preparing for the new edition of the Program and c. 1-2h a month over the course of the remainder of the year
  • You enjoy working with data
  • You are motivated and would like to add value for our members
  • You are creative, communicative and you bring ideas to the table
  • You are willing to contribute to the Careers Committee’s Mentoring Program over the course of the next 2 years (with a prolongation possibility)

 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • You will contribute to the development and expansion of our Mentoring Program
  • You will support matchmaking of mentees with mentors
  • You will contribute towards organisation of the events associated with the Mentoring Program
  • You will support communication between the Careers Committee and the participants in the Program
  • You will have a chance to get involved in other initiatives of the Career Committee

Volunteer Position: ESG Committee

 

The objective of the ESG Committee is to promote the standardization initiatives of CFA Institute in the ESG investment area, to raise the Society’s views in the industry discussions and to foster cooperation with other Swiss industry associations and stakeholder groups with respect to ESG investments.

The ESG Sub-Committee was formed as a subcommittee of the Advocacy Committee of CFA Society Switzerland in 2020 due to an increasing importance of the ESG and sustainability matters in the Swiss investment community.

The ESG committee is composed of the representatives of investment managers, asset owners, consulting firms, law firms and audit firms, and is chaired by Dimitri Senik CFA, who also chairs the ESG Verification Subcommittee of CFA Institute. The committee members are very passionate about ESG Investing and are engaged in the ESG-related activities in their organisations.

Committee organises the Annual ESG Investment Conferences. 

 

Requirements

  • Time required for this role: 2-3 hours per month
  • Experience in the field of ESG
  • Enthusiastic about using their skills and network to build new initiatives
  • Creative and communicative
  • Ideally CFA charterholder and member of CFA Society Switzerland

 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • During meetings, she/he actively participates in discussions to create a conference agenda
  • Eager to perform tasks
  • Actively promotes events to his/her professional network
  • Participates in events and engages with guests
