Career Paths 2025

 

The Careers Committee of CFA Society Switzerland is thrilled to welcome you back for the fourth consecutive year of our flagship in-person career event. Following two years of exploring technology-driven career paths - such as those in Crypto and Fintech - we now shift the focus back to what matters most: people.

Our first panel will delve into the dynamic world of careers in private markets. While traditional banking in Switzerland has faced ongoing disruption and restructuring, private markets have continued to flourish over the past decade. Even amid rising interest rates, strategies like private equity, infrastructure, and fund of funds have continued to perform strongly and attract top talent. Our panelists will share personal experiences, highlight key industry developments, and reflect on the challenges and opportunities for those looking to enter this space. They will also offer insights into the skills and mindset needed to thrive in such a competitive and evolving space.

Since the launch of the Career Paths series, there has not been a single year without a global upheaval. From the war in Ukraine and collapse of Credit Suisse to geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and sweeping economic policy changes. These disruptions had a profound effect on the whole economies and the Swiss financial industry, created uncertainty, led to widespread job cuts and heightened the stress level of the professionals across the sector. 

In response to this new reality, our second panel will address the increasingly crucial topic of mental fitness. We will explore how finance professionals can navigate stress, uncertainty, and constant change while maintaining clarity, focus, and well-being. Our panelists will share their strategies for building mental resilience, managing energy levels effectively and dealing with stressful situations, so frequent in today’s demanding work environment.
