Volunteers are vital to us providing valuable services to our members.  Browse below to find and apply for an opportunity that fits your interests, competencies, and availability.  You can volunteer in many ways, from short term project based opportunities to committee appointments. Duration of engagement: minimum 1 year (prolongation to the second year possible) starting February 2022.

Volunteer Position: Professional Learning Committee

The Professional Learning (PL) Committee promotes continuing professional development programs to meet the needs of local members and investment community with a focus on these tasks:

  • Organizing webinars
  • Organizing lunch and evening seminars, half-day or full-day events, traveling conferences, and special events in collaboration with CFA Institute.
  • Developing new PL formats and coordinating local efforts with volunteers.
  • Measuring and reporting the quality of PL events to the Board.

Requirements

  • Time required for this role: 2-3 hours per month
  • Ideally CFA charterholder and member of CFA Society Switzerland

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Attends monthly team meetings (conference calls and in-person meetings)
  • During meetings, she/he actively participates in discussions leading to the development of a professional learning agenda by researching relevant topics and identifying speakers.
  • Actively promotes webinars and related events to his/her professional network

Volunteer Position: Candidates Committee

The Candidates Committee is charged with organising candidate support activities with a focus on:

- Organize and attend onsite and online events for candidates 
- Think about needs of candidates and address it/discuss new ideas and implement them
- Pro-actively research and identify relevant topics and speakers

Requirements

  • Willingness to make things happen
  • Enthusiastic about using their skills to help other candidates
  • Creative and communicative
  • Enjoys planning and attending networking events
  • Professional network useful
  • Duration of engagement: minimum 1 year (prolongation possible)

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Organise and attend onsite and online events for candidates 
  • Think about needs of candidates and address it/discuss new ideas and implement them
  • Proactively research and identify relevant topics and speakers
  • Genuine interest in knowledge building activities and the concept of lifelong learning
  • Bring high energy and enthusiasm to the committee
  • Time required for this role: 3 - 4 hours per month
  • Duration of engagement: minimum 1 year (prolongation possible)

ESG sub-committee promotes knowledge on sustainable development of the financial sector by organizing webinars, expert meetings and conferences. It researches new products, solutions.

Requirements

  • Time required for this role: 2-3 hours per month
  • Experience in ESG sector
  • Enthusiastic about using their skills and network to organize events
  • Creative and communicative
  • Ideally CFA charterholder and member of CFA Society Switzerland

Roles and Responsibilities

  • During meetings, she/he actively participates in discussions leading to the development of a professional learning agenda by researching relevant topics and identifying speakers.
  • Actively promotes webinars and related events to his/her professional network

Volunteer Position: Member Networking Events Committee

The committee is looking for people interested in co-organizing events in Swiss cities. We particularly encourage people from smaller cities, where the CFA community has not yet had the opportunity to meet.

The Member Networking Events Committee plans and delivers networking events to:

  • Help organize major social events such as the Awards Ceremony and Annual Dinner.
  • Plan other social activities like networking drinks and lunches, wine tastings, sporting events and summer activities.

  • Time required for this role: 2-3 hours per month
  • Enthusiastic about using their skills and network to organize events
  • Creative and communicative
  • Ideally CFA charterholder and member of CFA Society Switzerland

Roles and Responsibilities

  • During meetings, she/he actively participates in discussions by researching relevant event concepts and venues
  • Actively promotes events to his/her professional network
  • participates in events and engages with guests
