Volunteer Position: Swiss Insurance Conference Committee
CFA Society Switzerland is launching the Swiss Insurance Conference (SIC) in Zurich — a new flagship event dedicated to insurance asset management and investment in Switzerland, debuting in spring 2027. We're assembling the founding committee comprised of 3–5 insurance investment decision-makers who will shape the inaugural agenda from the ground up, using CFA Society Switzerland's Peers 4 Peers approach. This is your chance to build a market-leading event from its first edition.
Requirements
- Extensive work experience in the insurance industry (advantage: investment/asset management roles)
- Excellent professional network Time required for this role: 3–4 hours per month
- Duration of engagement: minimum 1 year, prolongation possible up to a maximum of 6 years, starting October 2026
- Ideally, a CFA charterholder and member of CFA Society Switzerland
Roles and Responsibilities
- Attends biweekly team meetings (conference calls and in-person meetings)
- During meetings, actively contributes to discussions leading to the development of the Swiss Insurance Conference agenda
- Outside meetings, researches and identifies relevant topics and speakers
- Actively promotes the conference and related events to their professional network

Volunteer Position: Student Mentor
The CFA Society Switzerland Student Mentoring Program is looking for experienced finance professionals to guide motivated university students through one academic year of professional and personal development. As a mentor, you will share your experience, offer practical guidance and help shape the next generation of finance professionals in Switzerland.
Requirements
- CFA charterholder and member of CFA Society Switzerland
- Professional experience in the finance industry
- Willingness to listen, share knowledge and provide constructive guidance
- Time required: approximately one meeting per month, online or in person
- Duration of engagement: one academic year
Roles and Responsibilities
- Meets with their mentee approximately once per month
- Provides guidance on career development, industry insights and personal growth
- Helps the mentee set meaningful goals and reflect on their progress
- Supports the mentee in navigating professional or personal challenges
- Builds an open, respectful and confidential mentoring relationship

Volunteer Position: Technology Working Group
CFA Society Switzerland is establishing a Technology Working Group to help shape an integrated, secure and future-ready technology environment. We are assembling a founding group of 3-4 professionals who will assess the Society’s current systems and develop a practical roadmap covering its digital workplace, CRM, marketing technology, website, events, data management, cybersecurity and responsible use of AI.
Requirements
- Professional experience in one or more relevant areas: IT strategy, digital workplace, system integration, CRM and marketing technology, AI and automation, data governance, cybersecurity, privacy, project management or organizational change
- Strategic mindset and willingness to contribute practical expertise
- Time required: approximately 2–4 hours per month
- Duration: minimum 1 year, start date TBD
- Ideally, a member of CFA Society Switzerland; selected external specialists may also be considered
- Any relevant commercial interests or supplier relationships must be disclosed
Roles and Responsibilities
- Attends monthly to bi-weekly working-group meetings Reviews the Society’s current systems, integrations, suppliers, data flows and ownership
- Identifies risks, duplication, gaps and opportunities for improvement Helps define principles and priorities for an integrated technology environment
- Contributes to recommendations on AI, automation, cybersecurity, data privacy and compliance with Swiss data-protection requirements and GDPR where applicable
- Supports a defined workstream or project and helps develop a phased technology roadmap
The group will provide strategic guidance and support clearly defined projects. It will not be responsible for routine IT support, emergency troubleshooting or ongoing account administration.
