Navigating through the Changing Sustainability Perceptions: Asset Owners’ Perspectives

The sustainable investing landscape is entering a decisive new phase. Increasing scepticism regarding capabilities of the investment management industry to exercise an effective impact, overregulation fatigue and political headwinds, and a lagging performance of sustainable investment strategies are creating a challenging environment both for investment managers and asset owners.

Our Sustainable Investing Conference Romandie 2026 convenes Switzerland’s leading asset owners — pension funds, insurers, and family offices, alongside global investment managers, academics, and industry leaders — to explore how asset owners navigate through the changing perspectives and headwinds in the sustainable investing area, and how diverse investor perspectives are shaping the future of sustainable investing.

Besides addressing those challenges, this year the Conference will also focus on the social responsibility element within the ESG investing framework and on biodiversity which is increasingly being recognized as a critical environmental problem alongside climate change.

Conference Highlights include:

  • Pension Funds Panel: Strategic asset allocation, fiduciary duty, and implementation challenges in sustainable investing
  • Insurance Investors Panel: Capital resilience, regulatory complexity, and environmental risks integration
  • Family Offices Panel: Long-term capital stewardship, intergenerational strategy, and impact alignment
  • Biodiversity & Natural Capital Sessions: Integrating nature-related risks into portfolio construction and stewardship
  • Marine Protection Panel: Ocean sustainability, systemic risk, and investment opportunities in the blue economy

Through high-level dialogue and practitioner-led insights, attendees will gain a clear understanding of how leading asset owners are navigating through the current challenging sustainable investment environment, strengthening governance frameworks, and rethinking portfolio resilience across asset classes.

The Conference represents a strategic platform for institutional investors to exchange knowledge, challenge assumptions, and shape the next generation of sustainable investment strategies.
