Christian Takushi MA UZH is a Macro Economist with 31 years experience in Research, Portfolio Management and Strategy focused on Emerging Markets and Geopolitics. His professional career spans ZKB Research, Credit Suisse Group, Swisscanto Asset Management, BCV and Geopolitical Economics AG. Since 2015 he produces independent non-consensual geopolitical research - advising policy makers and investors. Takushi has been an active speaker & lecturer over the past 22 years (Lausanne University, IMD, Institut Le Rosey, CFA Institute etc.). He was born in Peru in 1966, did the German Abitur in Natural Sciences at the Humboldt Gymnasium in Lima, became a Physics-Laboratory Technician (Bachelor from Middendorf Technical School) and achieved a Master in Macro Economics at the Institute of Empirical Economic Research of Zurich University (UZH). A member of the CFA Institute. Against consensus, Takushi predicted the failure of the Japanese recovery (2006-2008), the breakout of the Swiss Franc (2011), BREXIT, the election of TRUMP (2016), and the shift to the liberal center by France and Germany in 2017. He uses a proprietary geopolitical approach and data-aggregation methods to analyze geopolitical trends that are underestimated by consensus, but that have the potential to affect the real economy.
